West Valley Water District (Rialto, California) has a $10 million grant proposal before the California Department of Health as part of State Proposition 84. The Joint Wellhead Treatment Project is intended to remove perchlorate from the water table beneath Rialto - representing a scientific first in California. The project will allow West Valley Water District and the City of Rialto to restore two wells that had been taken out of service due to perchlorate, nitrate and TCE groundwater contamination, using Envirogen's fluidized bed reactor (FBR) technology.
