Advanced Oxidation
Envirogen offers an NSF 61-certified photocatalytic membrane system to treat a broad range of organic contaminants in groundwater, including 1,4-dioxane, MTBE, endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs) and pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs).
This chemical-free advanced oxidation process (AOP) technology is combined with long-life UV and maintenance-free ceramic membranes in a single-unit operation to disinfect and sterilize biologicals by three distinct mechanisms:
-
Ultra-violet oxidation
-
Catalytic action
-
Ultra-filtration separation
The unique, multi-barrier process offers full automation, diagnostics and remote control; low energy requirements; minimal waste; no chemical oxidant storage and use; and no membrane replacement or cleaning.
This technology can treat a broad range of organic contaminants in groundwater, with particular effectiveness in compounds from light and heavy industry, including those resulting from industrial solvents, refineries and metal cutting operations. Other applications include reverse osmosis (RO) pretreatment, tertiary water reuse and aquifer storage and recharge (ASR).
