Selenium (Especially Coal Mining)
Meeting strict discharge limits (e.g., less than 5 μg/L) for large and small flow rates of selenium-containing wastewater.
Patented Fluidized Bed Reactor (FBR): Proven as ‘best in class’ for biological treatment. Benefit: Achieves selenium levels in water to less than 5 μg/L. The FBR offers shorter required residence times, a smaller overall footprint, low capital and operating costs, and consistently achieves discharge limit conditions even with changes in feed flow. Systems can be modular with all-weather protection.
Nitrate
Handling high flow or high concentration waste streams efficiently to optimize production.
Fluidized Bed Reactor (FBR): Utilized for high efficiency removal of nitrates at higher flow and higher nitrate concentrations. Benefit: This process allows mines to use efficient explosives, producing more charges per day and increasing production. Regenerable Ion Exchange: For low-flow applications, we use patented, high efficiency, regenerable ion exchange technology. Benefit: Ion exchange systems offer a small footprint and minimal operational requirements, making them suitable for tight spaces or remote locations.
Metals & Rare Earth Elements (REE)
Recovering valuable metals from mining wastewater and minimizing waste.
Advanced Metal Removal System (AMRS) or Regenerable Ion Exchange Systems combined with Brine Processing: These technologies are applicable to a broad range of metals, including rare earth elements (REE).
